If youre honest, youll admit you want to be promoted in life. You want the benefits of success, influence, and prosperity, and theres nothing wrong with that. Its what God wants for you too! Promotion even comes from God, and though relative to what God has called each person to do, it is available to every born-again believer! But even though promotion comes from God, it isnt God who determines whether you are promoted or not. Its you. You choose to be promoted by choosing to develop an excellent spirit, and in this book, Andrew Wommack will show you how. Using examples from the lives of Daniel and his friends, and from his own life, Wommack outlines the key characteristics of an excellent spirit including identity in Christ, true humility, full obedience, endurance, and an uncompromising stand with Gods word. In contrast, Wommack also explains the dangers of moral relativity and man-pleasing and how those characteristics often mire believers in a life of mediocrity and impotence. Personal talent, beauty, education and intelligence are also not what produce promotion; it is a devoted relationship with God which, in turn, produces an excellent spirit. No matter how much money you make or where you live; no matter who your connections are or the color of your skin; it is an excellent spirit that will be the true determiner of your promotion, and that spirit is what Wommack encourages you to pursue in Excellence.

The Spirit of Excellence A plan of God exemplified through Daniel God decided to create man in His image and likeness. The Lord God, in His eternal purpose, provided His word to feed and give life to man, in order for man to live the spirit of excellence on earth. Jesus, the second man and the last Adam, lived fully the spirit of excellence on earth fulfilling the plan of God. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end of the word of God. Jesus Christ is the essence and the fullness of the word of God. However, it is in the word that man lives in the spirit of excellence to fulfill the plan of God. Daniel was a Jew, who lived in exile in Babylon, from his youth to his death. When he was a child, he decided to obey the word of God during his life. By practicing the word of God, he fulfilled God's plan by living out the spirit of excellence on earth. In this book, we will learn more about the life and work of the prophet Daniel in Babylon. I believe that God desires for us to be inspired, challenged, and awakened to live a life with a spirit of excellence like Daniel lived. To God, in Christ Jesus, be all the glory!

And Other Important Questions

If God is love, how can He permit such tragedy in the world? Is He judging us for sin? These questions and many others fill the minds of both Christians and non-Christians. How can we understand the nature of God as it relates to the realities of suffering we see in the world? My desire to answer questions was born out of watching well known Christian leaders on TV as they were interviewed about tragedies and disasters. To my amazement, they could not explain “why God allowed bad things to happen.” The opportunity to reach millions of people with the revelation of God’s character, nature and love was lost. The usual ‘answers’ that I heard would always include the well-worn phrase, “God has everything under control.” Without realizing it, these leaders were blaming God for the suffering of millions around the world. If a self-destructing world is an example of God’s “control,” then why should we expect the lost to believe in this Christian God? Learning to answer these kinds of questions and many others became the focus of my teaching ministry. People have questions, and frequently these questions are left unanswered in our churches and ministries. During my first 3 years of employment at Andrew Wommack Ministries, I was given the opportunity to answer questions that were sent in from around the world in response to Andrew’s TV and radio broadcasts. As time went by I realized that most people have the same basic questions. When I began teaching at Charis Bible College, I was given the opportunity to develop some new courses. I immediately decided to create a course entitled Answers to Important Questions. Answers to Important Questions is now a 2nd year course that is taught during 2 terms. Some of the questions covered in the course are included in this booklet. These questions are some of the most frequently asked. My answers may not be satisfactory for all, and in some cases can be considered as suggestions to ponder. More could certainly be written about each topic, but my hope is that the information contained within will be helpful to the reader. God has answers to our questions and the more we get to know Him, the more His Truth will dispel our doubts and our faith in our loving Father will grow. Barry Bennett

Finding Meaning in Modern Times

Author: Leon R. Kass

Publisher: Encounter Books

ISBN: 1594039429

Category: Philosophy

Page: N.A

Most American young people, like their ancestors, harbor desires for a worthy life: a life of meaning, a life that makes sense. But they are increasingly confused about what such a life might look like, and how they might, in the present age, be able to live one. With a once confident culture no longer offering authoritative guidance, the young are now at sea—regarding work, family, religion, and civic identity. The true, the good, and the beautiful have few defenders, and the higher cynicism mocks any innocent love of wisdom or love of country. We are super-competent regarding efficiency and convenience; we are at a loss regarding what it’s all for. Yet because the old orthodoxies have crumbled, our “interesting time” paradoxically offers genuine opportunities for renewal and growth. The old Socratic question, “How to live?”, suddenly commands serious attention. Young Americans, if liberated from the prevailing cynicism, will readily embrace weighty questions and undertake serious quests for a flourishing life. All they (and we) need is encouragement. This book provides that necessary encouragement by illuminating crucial (and still available) aspects of a worthy life, and by defending them against their enemies. With chapters on love, family, and friendship; human excellence and human dignity; teaching, learning, and truth; and the great human aspirations of Western civilization, it offers people who are looking on their own for meaning, and as well as to people who are looking to deepen what they have been taught or to square it with the spirit of our time.
